It was one of the least aggressive call to arms you’ll likely ever see.

When Ovince Saint Preux was asked by a reporter if he’d like to fight Ryan Bader after snapping Ryan Jimmo’s arm at UFC 174, he shrugged.

“I think that would be a good matchup,” Saint Preux said. “Yeah. What else do you want me to say?”

Minutes later, Bader agreed and the wheels were set in motion for their headlining showdown next weekend at UFC Fight Night: Bangor.

No bad blood, no drama. Just two light-heavyweights looking to move up in the rankings by stepping into the octagon and beating each other senseless.

“It was pretty casual, we were asked and both just kind of said ‘Yeah, cool’ and three days later I got a call and had a contract and we’re ready to go,” said Bader, who’s ranked No. 8 in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division.
