Anderson Silva is getting one heck of a return fight.
UFC president Dana White told SportsCenter on Tuesday that Silva is healthy and will make his UFC return on January 31. He will meet Nick Diaz in the octagon.
Diaz, who signed a new three-fight deal with the UFC last week, hasn’t fought since March 2013 when he lost a five-round unanimous decision to Georges St-Pierre.
After signing the extension, Diaz told MMAFighting he was interested in fighting Silva.
“As far as Anderson Silva, I think that would be a great fight for people to see because of my type of style,” he said.
Silva hasn’t stepped in the octagon since his painful leg injury at UFC 168 in December against middleweight champion Chris Weidman.
