On the heels of Friday night’s decision to move UFC 178 from Toronto to Las Vegas, UFC Canada director of operations Tom Wright says the decision has nothing to do with poor ticket sales or lack of interest from the Toronto market.

"It's an important market to us and this was a case of recognizing this was a super fight that needed to go to the fight capital of the world and it had nothing to do with Toronto," Wright said.

Apparently, Toronto and Las Vegas weren't the only suitor in pursuit of a lover.

“It was a tossup between Las Vegas, Toronto and Stockholm," Wright said "But in the end the fight capital of the world is Las Vegas and this is as big of a fight as we've had in many years and Vegas wanted it very badly. (And) in the spirit of trying to understand that you're schedule is fluid where going to the fight capital of the world and I completely understand it.”
