There have been times recently when Daniel Cormier's seemed a little impatient.

After dismantling UFC rookie Patrick Cummins at UFC 170, Cormier called on light-heavyweight Jon Jones on Twitter to grant him a title fight.

Jones, like most of the MMA world, didn't feel like one fight at 205 lbs. against a complete unknown was enough to earn Cormier a shot at the belt.

So instead, Cormier's out to prove his credentials as a contender against MMA legend Dan Henderson at this weekend's UFC 173 in Las Vegas, and seems to understand what he has got to do if he wants to fight for the belt.

"I'd prefer for this to be the fight that gets me a championship fight," Cormier told MMAFighting.com this week. "It's against Dan Henderson. If I can finish him, on top of everything else I've done in my career ... I mean, I'd prefer not to fight again."
