In the long history of UFC tap-outs, there haven't been many like the one that earned Joseph Benavidez his win over Tim Elliott on Saturday night.

The final preliminary fight before UFC 172 in Baltimore ended with Benavidez locking Elliott into a guillotine and pinning both of his opponent's arms to the side of his body.

Unable to move his hands to concede the match, Elliott was left flailing his legs desperately to try and let the ref know he needed rescue.

It was an unorthodox way to end a fight, but Benavidez said afterwards that he'd always known the fight wouldn't end conventionally.
