It took Tim Kennedy a grand total of 16 seconds to start trash talking Michael Bisping.

"I think he's a douchebag," Kennedy said in an interview with the Sun this week.

Fight fans have gotten used to fighters' throwing shade at one another in the lead-up to their scraps, and the trash talk generally follows the same formula. The UFC announces a fight and two fighters with little history step up the banter as the organization's hype machine kicks in. Once the fight's done, bygones typically become bygones.

The Bisping-Kennedy showdown scheduled for The Ultimate Fighter: Nations finale on April 16 in Quebec City feels different, though.

Returning to the octagon after a frustrating year spent recovering from an eye injury, Bisping specifically requested his comeback fight be against the Texas-based Kennedy, who's ranked as the No. 8 middleweight in the UFC.
