Luke Rockhold might want to change his last name.

Rockfoot might be more appropriate.

Rockhold made short work of Costas Philippou in the main event of UFC Fight Night 35 Wednesday in Duluth Georgia, ending the fight with a trio of gut-churning left-footed kicks to the body midway through the first round. Rockhold (11-2), a former Strikeforce middleweight champion, dropped Philippou (12-4) with two solid boots to the liver then ended it with another while his opponent was on his knees.

"I'm not here to be good, I'm here to be great," Rockhold said after the fight. "I love that liver kick. It's always there, you've got to set it up and go high then low. I've got a lot of power on my kicks. As long as I don't rush things, I'm a lot better fighter. I waited for my opportunities, caught him with that hook then finished it with kicks."

Rockhold opened a nasty gash over Philippou's right eye earlier in the round, again with a vicious left kick.

Earlier on the main card, Brad Tavares held off a late flurry by Lorenz Larkin to win a unanimous decision in a middleweight bout; T.J. Dillashaw got back in the win column by posting a unanimous decision over Mike Easton in a bantamweight fight; Yoel Romero survived an early scare to get the TKO win over Derek Brunson at 3:23 of the third round; John Moraga earned a split-decision win over Dustin Ortiz; and Cole Miller forced Sam Sicilia to tap out with a rear-naked choke 1:54 into the second round.
