Chris (All-American) Weidman has retained the UFC middleweight championship, but he may not have silenced all doubters.

Anderson (The Spider) Silva suffered a potentially career-ending leg injury in the main event of UFC 168 Saturday in Las Vegas.

After almost getting knocked out in the first round, Silva delivered a routine low kick in the second. However, Weidman lifted his leg up to check the strike, causing Silva's leg to snap at the shin. The former titleholder immediately hit the mat in pain, causing referee Herb Dean to wave off the fight.

“No matter what happened in this fight or before, he's still known as the greatest of all time,” Weidman said. “I wish him the best."
