Anderson (The Spider) Silva considered hanging up his gloves following his vicious knockout loss to Chris (All-American) Weidman.
The Brazilian’s almost seven-year middleweight title run came to a shocking end at UFC 162 this past July, but it wasn’t that Silva had finally lost after a 16-0 run in the UFC that left fans gobsmacked, it was how it went down.
Part of Silva’s stellar legacy stems from previous outings where he would put on a one-man performance of The Matrix — bobbing, weaving and dancing around punches with relative ease. When this strategy worked, fans sang his praises as the greatest of all time.
But as Silva attempted to put on yet another dazzling display, karma caught up with him.
