Georges St. Pierre and Johny Hendricks were both given medical suspensions following their UFC welterweight title fight Saturday in Las Vegas.

St. Pierre, who retained his title in a shocking split decision, has been suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission until Jan. 1, 2014 and is not allowed contact until Dec. 17.

It could be a moot point since St. Pierre announced after the fight he would be taking a break from MMA to deal with personal issues, though he declined to say what they were.

Hendricks, meanwhile, could be out much longer after coming out of the fight with a possible right knee injury. He was suspended until May 17, 2014, unless cleared by an orthopedic surgeon, and is out until at least Dec. 17, with no contact before Dec. 8.

Chael Sonnen and Josh Koscheck, both of whom suffered knockout losses at UFC 167, will be sidelined until Jan. 1, 2014, with no contact until Dec. 17. Sonnen lost on a first-round TKO to Rashad Evans while Koscheck was TKOed in the first round by Tyron Woodley.
