Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida made a spectacular middleweight debut Saturday, knocking out Mark (The Filipino Wrecking Machine) Munoz in the main event of UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester, England.

After a brief feeling-out process, Machida uncorked a brutal high kick. Though Munoz got his hand up to block the strike, the force of the kick sent the No. 5-ranked middleweight crashing to the mat. Machida then went in for the kill, but opted not to throw any unnecessary follow-up strikes on the prone Munoz.

“It’s very hard for me because Mark is a very good friend,” Machida said. “As a professional, I didn’t think about that. I had to just do my job. Now that everything’s over, the friendship will keep going. Mark, thank you for fighting me. Sorry about that, my friend.”
