Mark (The Filipino Wrecking Machine) Munoz has had little time to wrap his head around fighting Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida.
Munoz was originally booked to face Michael Bisping this weekend, but the British striker required surgery to repair a detached retina. While preparing for Bisping, Munoz spent much of his camp training with Machida, who was slated to battle Tim Kennedy next month.
As a result of Bisping’s injury, Machida will now make his middleweight debut against Munoz in the main event of UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester Saturday.
Munoz said he would have preferred more notice to prepare for the former light-heavyweight champ.
