Glover Teixeira extended his win streak to 20 consecutive fights, delivering a dramatic TKO victory over Ryan (Darth) Bader in the main event of UFC Fight Night 28 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on Wednesday.

Bader appeared close to victory, wobbling the heavy-handed Brazilian, before going in for the kill in the opening frame. Teixeira, however, capitalized, dropping The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner with a two-punch combination. Teixeira then rained down big punches for the TKO win.

“As he knocked me down, I knew he was going to come with his guard open, because he was going to try to submit me,” Teixeira said through his translator. “That's the opportunity I used, I gave him a strong (punch) and that's when I was able to end the fight.”

Prior to the bout, UFC officials confirmed if Teixeira won in impressive fashion, he would receive a shot at the winner of the upcoming light-heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
