Phil (Mr. Wonderful) Davis isn't sweating Daniel Cormier's plan to cut the light-heavyweight contenders line.

A former NCAA Division I wrestler, Davis is slated to face Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida in the co-main event of UFC 163 in Rio de Janeiro on Aug. 3. The card will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chan Sung Jung.

It goes without saying that a victory over the former 205-pound champ will give Davis the ammunition he requires to lobby for a crack at the belt, which is set to be contested between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson this September.

Cormier, however, recently threw his name in the hat, stating he will drop to light-heavyweight and demand an immediate title shot should he get past Roy Nelson at UFC 166 in October.
