It looks like the main event at UFC 161 in Winnipeg will not be featuring interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao.

Tatame.com, a Brazilian mixed martial arts website, reported on Saturday that Barao, who hails from Brazil, has a right foot injury that will not be healed in time for the fight.

Barao, who has gone a remarkable 31 fights without a loss, was scheduled to tangle with American Eddie Wineland at a sold-out MTS Centre in the main event on Saturday, June 15.

UFC president Dana White told MMAFighting.com late Saturday that Barao “probably” will not fight in Winnipeg. However, UFC spokesperson Carolyn Blakely would not confirm on Sunday that Barao is out of the main event.

“We’ve seen the reports, but we do not have an official update at this time,” Blakely wrote in an e-mail. “We will share any card information whenever it comes available.”
