It was anything but a Rocky ending for Ilir (The Sledgehammer) Latifi.

The late-replacement fighter walked out to the film franchise's iconic theme song, but was battered and bloodied en route to a lop-sided unanimous-decision loss against Gegard (The Dreamcatcher) Mousasi in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 9 Saturday in Stockholm, Sweden.

Mousasi immediately began picking Latifi apart, keeping the Swede at a distance, while teasing with feints and finding his openings. The former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champ established his jab early, while Latifi whiffed heavy overhand punches.

Mousasi continued to march forward in the second, bloodying Latifi's right eye with jabs, as the tough wrestler backtracked across the cage.

The third unfolded much like the second, but Latifi finally tripped Mousasi to the mat with 30 seconds left on the clock. He attempted to connect with a Hail Mary punch, but was unable to capitalize on the opportunity.
