I've never been one to buy into rumours or speculation.

Just because something sounds plausible, or even downright sensible, doesn't mean it carries any real weight.

But that being said, I can't help but feel Georges (Rush) St. Pierre's time in mixed martial arts is coming to an end.

Before I explain why, here's a little back story.

Prior to his dominant victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 158 earlier this month, St. Pierre's former manager, Stephane Patry, wrote a column detailing the welterweight champ's “secret” three-step retirement plan. According to Patry, St. Pierre told him over dinner in January that he intends to fight Diaz, Johny Hendricks and Anderson Silva before hanging it up.

When questioned about Patry's article at the UFC 158 open workouts, St. Pierre didn't deny outright the supposed exit strategy.
