Wanderlei (The Axe Murderer) Silva served up another legendary war in Japan, knocking out (All-American) Brian Stann in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV 8 in Saitama Saturday.
The two immediately started slugging it out in a wild brawl. Silva blasted Stann with a knee, but was soon dropped courtesy a series of uppercuts. After a brief restart, both fighters exchanged punch flurries, with Stann dropping the MMA legend to a knee. Silva then switched to a counter-striking approach, sticking to the outside and picking his shots.
Stann then exploded with strikes, dropping Silva again, but the Brazilian immediately returned the favour with a right hook. A bloody Stann fired back with heavy punches before taking the fight to the mat as time expired in the first.
