Headline fighters have memories of Japan

When his career is all said and done, (All-American) Brian Stann will tell his kids about the time he fought Wanderlei (The Axe Murderer) Silva in Japan.

“It’s very special and we’re the main event,” Stann said over the phone. “There are so many things about this fight that make it the coolest of my career thus far. This is definitely one of the ones, 10 years from now, I tell people about and tell my kids about.

“It’s really cool, but I’m trying not to get too nostalgic about it. The bottom line is, in just a few days I’ve got to go into the octagon and perform. I’ve got to finish him. So I don’t want to get caught up too much in Wanderlei the star and how big a fan I am of him. I have to fight him.”

Stann and Silva meet at UFC on FUEL TV 8 in Saitama on Saturday. Though both fighters normally compete at middleweight, Silva requested the bout be contested at 205 pounds.

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
