When breaking down UFC flyweight champion Demetrious (Mighty Mouse) Johnson’s coming title defence against John (The Magician) Dodson, it’s hard not to focus on speed.

The two are arguably the fastest fighters on the UFC roster, having made careers of beating opponents to the punch. Johnson utilized his rapid pace to great effect in conquering the inaugural 125-pound tournament last year, picking up wins over Ian (Uncle Creepy) McCall and Joseph Benavidez. As for Dodson, his combination of quick footwork and power lead to a second-round TKO victory over Jussier (Formiga) da Silva in a No. 1 contender bout three months ago.

Though they are likely to set a land-speed record inside the octagon, Johnson said technique will dictate the outcome.

“Anybody can drive a car in the world very fast,” Johnson said over the phone. “In NASCAR, all the cars are going very fast, but it takes a great driver to know how to drive that car and maneuver it. That’s where this fight isn’t

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
