Nick Ring on main card for UFC 154 in Montreal
By QMI Agency
Canadian mixed martial artist Nick Ring will fight on a UFC main card for the first time next month in Montreal.
The fighter from Calgary was originally scheduled to take on Costa Philippou on the undercard of UFC 154 at the Bell Centre but the tilt has been moved to the pay-per-view card, replacing the light-heavyweight scrap between Chad Griggs and Cyrille Diabate. Griggs and Diabate will shift to the undercard to make room for the Ring-Philippou bout.
Ring is coming off a decision win over Court McGee at UFC 149 in Calgary. Philippou has won four straight after losing his UFC debut in March 2011.
Two other Canadians are on the main card, including welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, who will take on Carlos Condit in a 170-pound unification fight. Mark Hominick of Thamesford, Ont., will meet Pablo Garza in a featherweight fight to start the pay-per-view.
