TORONTO - There was a lot of disappointment at a Toronto media conference on Tuesday when Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz failed to show up. And it wasn’t just the reporters who were disappointed. Diaz’s opponent for the Oct. 29 card at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Last Vegas, UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, was also unimpressed with Diaz’ no-show.
“I’m disappointed because I sacrifice days of training to come here and do this stuff, and he didn’t show up,” said GSP.
“But it is what it is,” St. Pierre added. “I don’t what’s going on with his life. Maybe he had a good reason for not being here.”
UFC spokesman Steve Keogh said, for whatever reason, Diaz just didn’t make his flight for Toronto on Tuesday
