Finish him! — Or don't, it's really up to you, Sam

VANCOUVER - London’s Sam (Hands of Stone) Stout doesn’t need to be reminded.

It has been ten UFC fights and he has yet to finish an opponent.

There’s little doubt the energetic striker can swing — eight of his 16 wins as a pro have come by KO or TKO.

None, however, in the UFC.

“It’s a different breed of fighter in the UFC. These are the top guys in the world,” Stout said.

“Would I love to go out there and finish an opponent? Of course I would. But I’m not going to go out and make a mistake or do something dumb just to get a finish.”

Stout will take on veteran lightweight Yves Edwards.

“If Yves is making one final run for the belt, he’s got a huge obstacle in his way and that’s me. I’m going to be in his face.”

Winnipeg’s Krzysztof Soszynski, who takes on last minute replacement Mike Massenzio, and Calgary’s Nick Ring who faces James Head, round out the Canadians at UFC 131.
