TORONTO--Though it was bitter-sweet, Randy (The Natural) Couture's send off following his knockout loss to Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida at UFC 129 in front of 55,724 screaming fans at the Rogers Centre was no less emotional than if the MMA legend had walked away with the win.

Machida kept Couture at bay during the first round with his sharp striking and put the UFC Hall of Famer away in the second with a leaping front kick to the jaw.

Take Anderson (The Spider) Silva's knockout kick to Vitor (The Phenom) Belfort and mix in Ralph Macchio's crane kick from The Karate Kid and you get the idea. The shot sent Couture straight to the hospital.

"Randy was taken to the hospital to get checked out - you know, he got his head kicked off," White said jokingly at the post-fight press conference. "He went there to get his head checked out. He thought he got hit with a punch."

Since Couture's final MMA fight was in a city that loves hockey so much, it seems oddly fitting he leave looking like an NHL enforcer. The kick, which earned Machida knockout of the night honours and a $129,000 bonus, actually knocked out one of the legend's teeth.

"I went up into the octagon to talk to him," White began, laughing. "I said, 'Are you all right?' He said, 'Yeah, he hit me in the tooth,' and the tooth fell out while he was showing me. So I said, 'That's all right. We'll get you a new one - a better one than that when we get back to Vegas.'

"I tried to catch it, but he got it - thank God."
