Tickets will go on sale next week for Vancouver’s second UFC event. UFC 131 will take place at the Rogers Arena on June 11.
The event will feature a heavyweight contender match between The Ultimate Fighter 13 coaches Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos.
Tickets go on sale to UFC Fight Club members Apr. 14 and the general public Apr. 16.
Stout on card
Ontario’s Sam Stout is officially part of Vancouver’s UFC 131. The London fighter will take on fellow lightweight Yves Edwards. Winnipeg’s Krzysztof Soszynski will face Anthony Perosh.
PENN OFF CARD
With Jon Fitch hurt, B.J. Penn will not be fighting at UFC 132, mmajunkie is reporting. According to the MMA website, instead of taking on a replacement fighter, the Hawaiian ex-champ will instead sit out the July 2 event.
GEORGES LOSING?
It isn’t surprising that Nick Diaz would pick his training partner Jake Shields to defeat UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre at UFC 129 in Toronto. But Diaz isn’t alone. The man he’s facing at the Apr. 9 Strikeforce main event also agrees there may be an upset in Hogtown on April 30.
