Just hours before he's due to step into the Octagon, Jon (Bones) Jones played hero along with two of his coaches by chasing down a robber in a New Jersey park Saturday afternoon.

Jones, who'll fight Mauricio (Shogun) Rua Saturday night at UFC 128, broke news of the trio's heroics on Twitter.

Jones said on Twitter they saw a man smash a car window, steal a GPS device and run off.

"Coach Wink (Mike Winkeljohn) goes after this guy. Without hesitation, Coach (Greg) Jackson went after him...I was shocked and stood there for a second," Jones recounted on Twitter.

The group managed to catch the man, with Jones posting photos of the incident online.

"It feels so good to help others. It gives me power and energy," Jones said.

The main card of UFC 128 starts at 8 p.m. Mountain time, with Jones and Rua the headline fight.
