UFC Fight for the Troops 2 predictions
By JOSE RODRIGUEZ, QMI Agency
Predictions for UFC Fight for the Troops 2 on Saturday from Fort Hood, Texas.
Lightweights Evan Dunham (11-1) vs. Melvin Guillard (26-8-2) — Guillard likes to knock out opponents, Dunham likes pulling them apart. With more than half his victories via submission, Dunham should be able to dominate. Seven of Guillard’s eight losses have come via submission. Prediction: Dunham by first-round submission.
Heavyweights Tim Hague (12-4) vs. Matt Mitrione (3-0) — It’s hard to go against the Canadian, but Edmonton’s Hague will have a tough time with the seemingly unshakeable Mitrione. The plotting heavyweight should have his way. Prediction: Mitrione by second-round (T)KO.
Featherweights Mark Hominick (19-8) vs. George Roop (11-6-1) — Riding a four-fight win streak and the added incentive of a title fight should he be victorious, this should be Hominick’s night. Prediction: Hominick by decision.
Heavyweights Pat Barry (5-2) vs. Joey Beltran (12-4) — Both fighters share a common opponent in Hague. Barry lost to the Canadian, while Beltran was able to win a decision. Both fighters like to swing, but Barry has shown to gas easily. Prediction: Beltran by second-round (T)KO.
Lightweights Cole Miller (17-4) vs. Matt Wiman (12-5) — Wiman has perhaps beaten bigger-name fighters, the biggest coming in a win over Mac Danzig in June. Miller is a ground specialist with 70% of his victories coming via submission.Prediction: Wiman by decision.
