MONTREAL -- Georges (Rush) St. Pierre looks to shut Josh (Kos) Koscheck's mouth in the main event of UFC 124. Also, Stefan (Skyscraper) Struve faces Sean (Big Sexy) McCorkle.

Pat Audinwood vs. John Makdessi

Round one

Makdessi is a training partner of Georges St. Pierre at Tristar and gets a big ovation. Audinwood comes out to Rush's Tom Sawyer, so I immediately want him to lose horribly for forcing me to listen to Geddy Lee's singing.

Makdessi takes octagon control. Audinwood tries a body kick. He misses one to the legs. Makdessi pushes him back with a side kick to the gut. Makdessi lands a leg kick and misses a spinning back kick. Audinwood whiffs on a body kick again. Makdessi with another side kick.

Audinwood charges with punches and Makdessi blocks a head kick. Audinwood lands a straight right. They both swing and tag each other hard with punches. Makdessi drops him with a counter jab and unloads with punches, but Audinwood protects and is back up. Audiwood tries to clunch, but eats a bunch more punches to the face. Stiff jab from Makdessi, and again with the side kick. Audinwood shoots, but Makdessi stuffs it. Impressive round for Makdessi.

Round two

Makdessi takes the centre again and lands that side kick. And again. He blocks a body kick. Makdessi tags him with a head kick. Leg kick from Makdessi. he follows with another and blocks a head kick. They exchange a flurry that ends with a straight right from Makdessi. Big spinning back kick to Audinwood's stomach.

Audinwood shoots and takes him down, but Makdessi gets right back to his feet. Makdessi staggers him with a straight right. Stiff jab from Makdessi. Two more as the round ends.

Round three

Audinwood needs to finish him to win this.

Makdessi comes right for him with a leg kick and a side kick. He follows with an inside leg kick, but eats an outside one in return. Audinwood stumbles off a missed Superman punch, but recovers. Stiff left hook from Makdessi.

Audinwood with a nice straight right. Makdessi lands another hard jab. He tags him again with the same punch. Audinwood lands a one-two. Beautiful counter jab from Makdessi. And another. He's been landing that all day. Makdessi tries a jumping spin kick, but it's blocked. Hard straight right from Makdessi.

Winner: John Makdessi by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Ricardo Almeida vs. T.J. Grant

Round one

Grant takes octagon control. Inside leg kick from Almeida. He follows with a body punch. Almeida catches a leg kick and spins a single to take Grant to the mat. Almeida moves to half-guard and stands up. He misses a big punch and re-enters Grant's guard. Almeida stands up and throws an elbow.

Almeida works punches to the body. Almeida stands up again and lands two big punches. He does it again. Grant is having trouble controlling the posture.

Almeida is back in half-guard. He stands up and Grant kicks him off. Grant is back to his feet. Almeida presses him against the cage and takes him down again. Grant lands an upkick to the body, but Almeida dives in with a punch. Grants has him in butterful guard. He tries to kick him off, but Almeida stays on top.

Almeida rains punches down from a standing position. He lands two big elbows and is back in Grant's guard as the round ends.

Round two

Grant can't afford another round like that one.

Grant comes forward, but Almeida shoots and gets him to the ground. Grant has him in his guard. Almeida passes to half easy. He takes side-control, but stands up. Grant feeds him upkicks, but Almeida dives down and takes side again.

Grant moves him to a butterfly guard, but Almeida passes right to side-control. Grant explodes to his knees and tries a takedown, but Almeida puts him on his back near the cage. Grant stands up, but Almeida twists a single-leg to put him down again.

Almeida misses a big punch, but prevents Grant for scrambling to his feet. Grant gets to his feet and stuffs a takedown attempt. He puts Almeida on his back and rains a huge punch. Grant dives into his guard as the round ends. Not enough to steal it, though.

Round three

Grant needs to finish Almeida in this round.

Almeida with a jab and follows with a punch to the body. He shoots and puts Grant on his butt against the fence. He scoops the legs out and takes Grant's back. Almeida rolls him over, but Grant counters and takes him into half-guard. Grant moves him to full-guard.

Almeida tries to stand, but Grant uses his legs to keep him down. Almeida lands a hard elbow. Grant scoots his way into a seated position against the fence, but Almeida drags his legs out and puts him on his back. Almeida takes full-mount. He switches to Grant's back again. Almeida works in punches to try and open him up. Grant spins out and takes him to half-guard. Almeida starts raining elbows.

Almeida takes the full-mount and switches to the back again. Grant spins out and is in his guard now. They scramble back to the feet, but Almeida trips him as the round ends.

Winner: Ricardo Almeida by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Sean Pierson vs. Matthew Riddle

Round one

Pierson is from Toronto, so the fans love him unconditionally.

Pierson goes right for him. They both throw wild punches, but Pierson grabs a Thai clinch and lands some knees to the body. Pierson starts tagging him a bit against the cage. They clinch and Pierson delivers some uppercuts. Pierson presses him and starts kneeing the legs. Riddle shuffles off the fence, but Pierson puts him right back there.

They separate. Riddle tries a stupid flying knee and Pierson knocks him down with a big counter punch. Pierson lands some punches on the ground and Riddle tries to take him down. Pierson sprawls and knees the body. Riddle stands up, but is slammed back down. Pierson takes side control and kness the body more.

Riddle gets to his knees, but Pierson takes his back. Riddle stands up, but Pierson lands elbows while hanging off him. Riddle drops back down, but gets to his feet and they go back to striking. Pierson tags him with a jab and an uppercut as they trade flurries. Nice jab from Pierson. Riddle charges, but eats a right hook as the round ends. Good start for Pierson.

Round two

Riddle comes forward and tries a head kick, which is blocked. Pierson lands a stiff one-two and stuffs a takedown attempt. They separate.

Pierson with a leg kick. He follows with a nice jab. Pierson with a punch to the body. Riddle charges, but eats a straight left. Pierson goes back to landing jabs. Riddle isn't doing much to block them.

Riddle jumps into a guillotine choke attempt, but Pierson escapes and gets back to his feet. Riddle reverses a takedown attempt. Pierson has him in butterfly guard. Riddle throws crazy punches as the rounds ends.

Round three

Riddle charges and swings wildy, but gets tagged by the back-tracking Pierson. Riddle clips him with a straight left. Riddle charges again, but gets drilled by a big right hook and retreats. Riddle throws tons of punches, but Pierson avoids them and counters with jabs. Pierson keeps lands his shots as Riddle walks forward punching like Bart Simpson. Unfortunately for him, no part of Pierson filled that air.

Pierson is cut under his eye. He lands a straight left, but gets backed off by more Riddle punches. Pierson lands another straight left. Riddle keeps throwing wild and getting caught by jabs. The crowd goes crazy for it. Riddle lands a nice right hook.

Riddle shoots and Pierson sprawls. Pierson rolls him, but does nothing with it. They swing for the fences as the round ends. Both men hug as the crowd erupts.

Winner: Sean Pierson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Jesse Bongfeldt vs. Rafael Natal

Round one

Natal catches a body kick attempt and takes Bongfeldt to the mat. Natal tries to helicopter his way into side-control, but Bongfeldt flips him over. Natal lands back on his back following the resulting scramble, however.

Natal works in hammerfists from Bongfeldt's guard. Natal takes Bongfeldt's back, but Bongfeldt spins out into his guard. They stand up and clinch. Bongfeldt lands a knee to the body, but Natal puts him on his back again.

Bongfeldt stands up, but Natal presses him against the cage. Natal trips him back down and takes his back. Natal lands some punches to the ear. Bongfeldt works to try and escape, but Natal holds on. He eventually spins out into Natal's guard.

Bongfeldt stays on top and tries to land some punches, but Natal is hard to hit. They stand up and Bongfeldt trips him to the mat. Natal has him in a butterfly guard. Bongfeldt lands an elbow as the round ends.

Round two

Bongfeldt shoves him to the mat and lands a huge punch. He explodes with more shots, but Natal survives. Bongfeldt has full-mount against the cage. He lands some elows and Natal explodes, but Bongfeldt takes the back. Natal scrambles again and gets to his feet. He presses Bongfeldt against the cage.

Bongfeldt drops for a leg. He tries to pull him off, but Natal grabs the fence. The ref stops it to issue a warning. Natal takes him down to side control. Bongfeldt gets to his knees and Natal takes the back. Natal switches to full-mount. Bongfeldt explodes, but Natal takes the back again.

Bongfeldt gets back to his feet, but is tossed down. Bongfeldt rolls him into half-guard. Natal takes the back again, but can't get the choke before the round ends.

Round three

Bongfeldt misses a head kick after stuffing a takedown attempt. Bongfeldt moves forward, but Natal retreats forcing Bongfeldt to chase around the cage. Hard leg kick from Bongfeldt. Natal shoots, but Bongfeldt sprawls.

Natal looks pretty tired now. Bongfeldt unloads with punches against the cage and Natal drops. Bongfeldt enters half-guard and takes full-mount. Natal tries to control his posture, but Bongfeldt bounces his head off the mat. Bongfeldt breaks his grip and lands a hard elbow. Natal explodes, but Bongfeldt puts him back down.

Bongfeldt is in his half-guard now. He switches to side. He takes the mount again. Bongfeldt unloads with punches as the round ends.

Decision: A majority draw (30-30, 30-30, 30-30). What the hell? That makes no sense. How do you get a majority draw if the scores were all the same? Also, that last round was all Bongfeldt.

UPDATE: Just got the score card. Judges Salvatore D'Amato and Tony weeks scored it 28-28, while John Woodburn awarded Natal the fight 29-28. All three judges awarded Natal the first two rounds (20-18 total scores), but Weeks and D'Amato scored the third round 10-8 for Bongfeldt. So there's the majority draw for you.

Mark Bocek vs. Dustin Hazelett

Round one

Bocek presses forward and lands a straight right. He trips Hazelett to the mat. Bocek is in his guard and lands a shoulder punch. He works a shot to the body, as Hazelett tries for rubber-guard. Bocek takes side-control, but Hazelett brings him back to half-guard. Bocek throws elbows to the body.

Bocek has side again. He takes the full-mount and rolls for a triangle choke. Bocek eblows the top of the head. He pulls down on the choke and Hazelett taps! Very impressive win for Mark Bocek.

Joe Doerksen vs. Dan Miller

Round one

Miller tries a body punch, but Doerksen moves out of the way. Doerksen tags him with a stiff one-two. Doerksen stumbles on a leg kick and Miller takes him down. Miller moves to half-guard. Doerksen initiates a scramble, but Miller rolls him and is back in half-guard.

Doerksen takes him back to full-guard. They exchange short punches. Doerksen tries to sweep, but can't get it, so he throws some punches. Miller stands and eats an upkick. He dives in with punches, but Doerksen avoids any damage. Miller with an elbow to the body. And another. Doerksen goes back to short punches.

Miller tries some hammerfists. Miller with an elbow as Doerksen tries to separate his hips and escape. Miller with some punches as the round ends.

Round two

Nice left hook from Doerksen. Miller shoots, but Doerksen reverses and lands on top. Doerksen tries to land big punches from his feet, but Miller keeps him at bay by planting his feet into Doerksen's hips and pushing him away.

Doerksen enters Miller's guard. Miller tries to grab his leg for a rubber-guard, but can't get it. Doerksen stands up and Miller kicks him off. Miller shoots immediately and takes Doerksen down. Miller throws some short punches.

Doerksen tries to sweep, but Miller forces him back down. Doerksen works for a kimura from the bottom. He tries to sweep him with it, but Miller escapes and is back in Doerksen's guard.

Miller stands up and Doerksen delivers an upkick. Miller dives back into the guard. Doerksen lands an elbow and Miller tries some punches as the round ends.

Round three

Doerksen lands a big overhand right, but eats a counter uppercut. Miller shoots and Doerksen tries to sweep right off it, but Miller lands on his feet and is back in the guard. Miller with more short punches. Doerksen tries another sweep, but Miller stays on top.

Doerksen feeds him a tight elbow. Miller tries hammerfists, but uses his hips to avoid the shots. Miller is bleeding and presses Doerksen against the fence.

Doerksen elbows his shoulder a bit. Doerksen tries to escape, but Miller stays on top. Miller tries more punches, but Doerksen blocks them. Doerksen with some punches and elbows from the bottom. Miller with some punches to the body. They trade punches and elbows as the round ends.

Winner: Dan Miller via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Thiago Alves vs. John Howard

Round one

They touch gloves to start. Alves with an outside leg kick. He backs Howard up with a left-right combo. Alves lands a straight right and takes him down. Alves tries some short punches to the head from half-guard.

Howard tries for a leg lock and Alves steps out. They restart on the feet. Alves with a slapping inside leg kick. He lands a hard left hook, but Howard responds with a big body kick. Howard with a nice counter-jab. Alves with a hard leg kick. Howard lowers for a takedown, but is met with a hard knee from Alves. Alves with a counter jab.

Alves lands a body kick, but is almost tripped to the ground. Howard clinches him against the cage. They restart and Alves lands a leg kick. Howard blocks a head kick and catches a leg kick, following with a straight right. Howard with a stiff leg kick. Both guys swing for the fences as the round ends.

Round two

Alves with an inside leg kick. Howard backs him off with a teep. An inside leg kick tags Howard in the groin, but they touch gloves and restart. Another inside leg kick from Alves.

Howard with an outside leg kick. Alves with one of his own. And again. Jab lands on Howard's chin. Howard responds with big shots, but none land. Alves clips him with a head kick, but Howard keeps moving forward. Alves delivers a nice slam to put Howard on his back.

Alves is now in half-guard. Howard tries to sweep him, but Alves lands back in full-guard. Alves unloads some wild hammerfists, forcing Howard to scramble. Alves keeps him down, though. Alves tries more hammerfists, but Howard avods them as the round ends.

Round three

Hard outside leg kick from Alves to start. Howard needs to get something going here. Howard whiffs on a one-two combo, but finishes with an outside leg kick that lands. Another leg kick is met with a counter jab from Alves.

Howard goes back to the one-two followed by a leg kick. Howard tries a leg kick, but a counter right knocks him down. He springs back up and they clinch on the fence. That goes nowhere and they separate. They exchange combos, but the shots are blocked by both men. Outside leg kick from Howard.

They exchange combos with Alves landing a hard leg kick at the end. Alves tags him with a jab. Inside leg kick from Alves. They swing for the fences to end the fight.

Winner: Thiago Alves via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Mac Danzig vs. Joe Stevenson

Round one

Stevenson tries an overhand right, but Danzig steps out. Danzig pushes him back with a teep. Stevenson clips him with an overhand right. Stiff jab from Danzig. Stevenson lands one of his own. Danzig delivers a Thai knee and follows with a left hook. Stevenson charges forward, but Danzig drops him with a counter left hook! Stevenson is out!

Winner: Mac Danzig via first-round knockout.

Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira

Round one

Oliveira starts with a head kick to the jaw. Miller takes it and stuff a takedown attempt. Miller comes forward with punches and takes Oliveira down. Oliveira tries for an arm, but Miller pops it out. Oliveira tries a high guard, but gives up on it. Oliveira threatens with an armbar, but Miller escapes again.

Miller switches to a kneebar and Oliveira taps! Wow.

Winner: Jim Miller via first-round submission (kneebar)

Sean McCorkle vs. Stefan Struve

Round one

McCorkle misses a jab, but gets a huge slam. He's in Struve's half-guard and works for a kimura. Struve puts his back against the cage to defend it. Struve kicks off the wall to free his arm. He explodes, but McCorkle enters his guard. McCorkle lands a big elbow. He postures up and delivers punches to the body. Struve tries for an armbar, but McCorkle escapes.

Struve lands a hammerfist. McCorkle tries for a can-opener, but Struve pops his head out. Struve now goes for a kimura and uses it to sweep to full-mount. Struve unloads with punches and elbows! The ref stops it!

Winner: Stefan Struve via first-round TKO (strikes)

Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck

Round one

As expected, Koscheck gets booed out of the Bell Centre. It's deafening in here as Bruce Buffer announces St. Pierre. I knew I should have brought earplugs.

St. Pierre lands a double-jab. St. Pierre shoots and takes Koscheck down. He's right back up, though. St. Pierre with an inside leg kick. He follows with a jab. Koscheck stuffs a takedown attempt. Another inside leg kick from St. Pierre. Koscheck lands a jab, but St. Pierre comes with an overhadn right. Koscheck defends another takedown attempt.

Stiff jab from St. Pierre. Another. Koscheck blocks a head kick. Koscheck ducks a right hook and misses a counter punch. St. Pierre lands more jabs. Another leg kick from St. Pierre. Koscheck shoots and press him against the fence.

Koscheck has a leg. He drops down again, but St. Pierre defends. Koscheck lifts him up and puts St. Pierre on his back as the round ends.

Round two

Koscheck has a nasty cut under his right eye.

St. Pierre misses an overhand right. Koscheck's eye looks like it's swollen shut. Koscheck misses an overhand right. St. Pierre lands another jab. St. Pierre lands a leg kick and follows with jabs.

St. Pierre tries a Superman punch and Koscheck responds with an overhand right that misses. St. Pierre with a jab followed by an overhand right.

That eye looks rough.

Koscheck throws a double-jab. St. Pierre with an inside leg kick and a head kick that's blocked. St. Pierre goes inside again. St. Pierre shoots, but Koscheck stuffs it again. They clinch on the fence. St. Pierre knees the legs.

Koscheck reverses and presses him against the cage. St. Pierre quickly turns that around. St. Pierre drops for another takedown, but Koscheck brings him back up. They break.

St. Pierre lands another jab. Koscheck swings a wild right, but St. Pierre clinches and presses him against the fence again. St. Pierre lets go of it. St. Pierre with a jab. Koscheck misses a head kick. St. Pierre goes back to the Superman punch and follows with the leg kick.

Round four

The doctor checks the eye and let's the fight continue. Koscheck needs something big here.

St. Pierre gets the takedown, but Koscheck scrambles back to his feet. St. Pierre lands another jab. He follows with an inside leg kick. Koscheck slips on a punch, but gets back to his feet. St. Pierre delivers a hard left-hook. He backs him off with a double-jab. St. Pierre does it again.

St. Pierre lands another neck-snapping jab. Koscheck misses a head kick as the round ends.

Round five

It's now or never for Koscheck.

St. Pierre stuffs a takedown attempt. Koscheck tries the overhand right, but misses. Koscheck tries a sloppy takedown and misses. St. Pierre with an inside leg kick, followed by another jab. he tags Koscheck with another.

St. Pierre with a jab. Koscheck misses an overhand right and St. Pierre lands a straight-right counter. St. Pierre shoots for a takedown, but can't get it. They clinch on the fence and St. Pierre knees the thigh. They exchange punchs to the body. St. Pierre gets the takedown. Koscheck is back up, but St. Pierre puts him down again. Koscheck gets right back to his feet. They break. Koscheck lands a side kick and St. Pierre charges with punches as time expires.

Both fighters hug and congratulate each other.

Winner: Georges St. Pierre via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45)
