Georges St. Pierre is returning to Montreal to defend his welterweight championship against Josh Koscheck.

The 29-year old Ultimate Fighting Championship superstar will headline UFC 124 at the Bell Centre on Dec. 11. It's the second time this year Montreal will host a UFC pay-per-view -- UFC 113 also took place at the Bell Centre.

The 170-pound 'bout will coincide with the conclusion of the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. St. Pierre and Koscheck are opposing coaches on the reality television show, which features fighters looking to earn a professional contract with the UFC.

UFC president Dana White confirmed the news to mmafighting.com on Monday night.

St. Pierre (20-2) has won his past seven fights and already has one victory over Koscheck in his career. The two squared off at UFC 74, where the Quebec native defeated Koscheck via unanimous decision in a non-title fight.

Koscheck (15-4) has won his past three fights after defeating Paul Daley in May to earn a shot at the title.

The news likely will disappoint Toronto mixed martial arts fans who had hoped the St. Pierre/Koscheck 'bout would be saved for the first UFC event in Ontario, which is likely to happen sometime in the early part of 2011.
