LAS VEGAS--Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin meet in a heavyweight title unification match at UFC 116. Also, Yoshihiro Akiyama faces Chris (The Crippler) Leben.

Jon Madsen vs. Karlos (The Terminator) Vemola

Round one

Vemola comes out to the "Terminator 2" theme song. Awesome.

Vemola tries a big overhand right, then dives for a takedown. Madsen reverses and delivers knees against the cage. Vemola tries for another takedown, but it's stuffed. Vemola knees the body in the clinch. Madsen returns, but Vemola comes over the top with a right hand.

Madsen presses him against the fence. Vemola tries to escape, but Madsen presses him back against the cage. The ref restarts them. Vemola explodes for a takedown, but it's stuffed and they return to the clinch against the wire. Vemola lands some knees to the gut. They restart.

Vemola tries the overhand right again. Madsen gets the takedown. He works some punches to the body from half-guard. The round ends.

Round two

Madsen gets the takedown again. He's back to half-guard. He works more punches from the body. He tries some short elbows. Vemola tries to stand up, but Madsen puts him back down. Not much is happening here now.

They restart. Madsen connects with a looping left-hook. Vemola throws that wild overhand again and tries for a takedown. Madsen reverses and presses him against the cage again. Big leg kick from Vemola, followed by the overhand right again. Though, it actually lands this time.

Round three

Thank, God. Only one more round of this.

Vemola misses the overhand again. He lands a leg kick and then tries the you-know-what and misses. Madsen takes him back down. Madsen continues to work the body. Vemola tries for a kimura, but gives it up after failing to pop the arm up from underneath Madsen. Madsen switches to side-control.

Vemola spins himself into north-south underneath Madsen. The ref restarts them. Madsen shoots, but Vemola grabs a guillotine choke. Madsen pops his head out and we're back to nothing happening. The ref restarts them. Vemola swings for the fences as the round ends.

Winner: Jon Madsen by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Daniel (Ninja) Roberts vs. Forrest (The Meat Cleaver) Petz

Round one

Roberts immediately comes forward. He shoots and presses Petz against the fence. He pulls his legs out and puts Petz down. Petz gets back to his knees and then to his feet. They restart. Petz with a punch to the body, but misses a lunging left-hook. Roberts shoots and slams him down. Petz his immediately back to his feet, though.

Petz knees him in the body from the clinch. Petz reverses and presses Roberts against the wire. They break. Roberts shoots and puts Petz on his back again. He takes side-control and then grabs his back. He works for a rear-naked choke, but the round ends.

Round two

Petz with a stiff outside leg kick. He follows with another. He lands a couple more leg kicks. Roberts shoots, but Petz stuffs it. Roberts grabs a single-leg and trips Petz to the mat. Petz tries to wall-walk his way back up, but Roberts takes his back in the transition. He works again for the rear-naked choke.

Petz explodes out and is on top now. He rains punches, but Roberts stands back up. Petz keeps tagging him and backs him against the cage, but Roberts shoots and gets the takedown. He takes side-control. Petz gets back to his feet and takes Roberts down now. Roberts with a guillotine choke attempt as the round ends.

Round three

Petz starts with a leg kick. He lands another. Roberts avoids a straight-right. Petz tags him with a straight-right this time. He lands another leg kick. Roberts tries a head kick. Petz catches him with the right again. Big left-hook from Petz. Another leg kick. Roberts shoos again and trips him down. He lands short punches from half-guard. Roberts passes to full-mount as the round ends.

Winner: Daniel Roberts by split-decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Gerald (Hurricane) Harris vs. Dave Branch

Round one

Both guys are tentative to start. Harris keeps faking a takedown. He tags Branch with a big straight-left. Branch responds with a head-kick attempt. Branch with an outside leg kick. Harris charges with a straight-left and misses an uppercut. Harris connects with a left-hook against the fence. He tries a huge overhand right that misses.

Harris stumbles him with a big right, but Branch is back to his feet. Harris catches him with a left-hook and follows with an overhand right. They clinch against the cage. Harris drops for a takedown attempt. Harris picks Branch up and slams him as the round ends.

Round two

Branch misses a takedown attempt. Right-hook from Branch misses. He tries another head kick. Harris takes Branch down and is in his guard. Hammerfist attempts from Harris. Branch gets back up to his feet. They clinch and trade keens against the cage.

Branch keeps kneeing he legs. Harris shoots and takes him down. Branch stands back up, but eats a huge punch from Harris. Head-snapping jab from Harris as the round ends.

Round three

Harris shrugs off a takedown attempt. Branch jumps into a triangle choke attempt, but Harris slams his way out. Branch gets back to his feet. He presses Harris against the cage. The ref restarts them. Harris defends a Thai clinch by dropping from a takedown. Branch tries to jump into a triangle choke attempt and Harris delivers a huge slams! Branch is out cold! What a slam!

Winner: Gerald Harris by third-round knockout.

Kendall (Da Spyder) Grove vs. Goran Reljic

Round one

They touch gloves. Reljic tries a high kick. Reljic clips him with a straight-left. Reljic throws a 1=2, but Grove backs off. Another high kick attempt from Reljic. Grove with one of his own. Body punch from Reljic. Teep from Grove. Another head kick from Reljic misses. Reljic shoots and takes Grove down.

Grove works some elbows from the bottom. Reljic stands up and eats a huge up-kick that knocks him down. Grove delivers a knee to the face as Reljic shoots out of desperation. They break.

Round two

Massive left-straight from Reljic. Noe Grove shoots and takes him down. Reljic tries for an omoplata and uses it to sweep. Reljic stands up and kicks away at the legs. Grove throws more up-kicks, but Reljic gets past them and enters his guard.

Grove throws more elbows. Reljic alternates between punches to the head and body. Grove keeps chipping away with elbows and punches. The ref stands them back up. Grove misses a head kick. Reljic almost trips him with a leg kick.

Round three

Reljic misses a bg straight-left. Gorve unloads with punches, but Reljic backs out along the fence. Reljic misses a takedown attempt and blocks a head kick. Grove tags him with a right-straight off a flurry. Reljic trips him to the mat, but Grove is right back up and delivers a knee. Inside leg kick from Grove. Reljic shoots and Grove tries a jumping knee.

Reljic presses him against the cage. Reljic gets him down to the ground. He passes to side-control. Then takes north-south. Reljic tries for a choke, but Grove is back up as the round ends.

Winner: Kendall Grove by split-decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)

Seth (The Silverback) Petruzelli vs. Ricardo Romero

Round one

Petruzelli with an inside leg kick. Romero charges, but is backed off with punches. Petruzelli with a teep and counters a takedown attempt with a punch. He stuffs another shot. Now Petruzelli unloads with punches against the cage. Petruzelli charges with punches again and slips off a head kick attempt. Romero with a nie jab. Petruzelli stuffs another takedown attempt.

Romero grabs his back and takes him down. Romero tries a guillotine choke, but Petruzelli slips out. Petruzelli delivers a barrage of punches from on top. He stands up and lands more big punches. Romero takes him down though. He gets full-mount. He tries for an americana. He takes Petruzelli's back. Romero takes mount again and tries for an armbar. Petruzelli gets back up and drops him. Romero is back on top and gets the rear-naked choke. Petruzelli taps, but the round is over.

Round two

Romero misses a takedown attempt. Petruzelli backs him against the cage. Romero shoots and Petruzelli takes his back. He tries for an armbar, but Romero gets out. Romero works some punches to the body and head. Petruzelli delivers elbows from his back. Petruzelli tries for a triangle choke, but Romero avoids it. Romero takes side-control. Romero gets a straight-armbar and Petruzelli taps! Ouch, the replay shows Petruzelli's forearm snapping.

Winner: Ricardo Romero by second-round submission.

Brendan (The Hybrid) Schaub vs. Chris (The Crowbar) Tuchscherer

Round one

Schaub takes octagon control. Schaub connects with a right hook and follows with an uppercut. He lands a nice jab. Huge overhand right drop Tuchscherer and Schaub unloads. The ref stops it!

Winner: Brendan Schaub by first-round TKO.

George Sotiropoulos vs. Kurt (Batman) Pellegrino

Round one

Sotiropoulos clips him with an overhand right. Pellegrino delivers a flurry of punches in response, though. Pellegrino tags him with a jab. Sotiropoulos drops him with a big left-hook. He tries to take Pellegrino's back, But Pellegrino stands back up. Pellegrino lands a nice jab. Left-hook from Sotiropoulos. Pellegrino gets the takedown, but Sotiropoulos is right back up.

Another left-hook from Sotiropoulos. Big knee off from Sotiropoulos. He lands a nice jab and finds a home for the left-hook again. Pellegrino takes him down, but Sotiropoulos works the rubber-guard. Pellegrino slips out and moves to half-guard. Sotiropoulos brings him back to guard.

Round two

Sotiropoulos grabs a leg and slams Pellegrino to the mat. He passes to half-guard and almost takes full-mount. Sotiropoulos works elbows to the body. He unloads with short punches to Pellegrino's face. Pellegrino tries to stand-up, but is taken right back down again.

Sotiropoulos takes side-control against the fence. Pellegrino stands up, but Sotiropoulos works to take his back. Sotiropoulos tries to muscle him off the cage, but Pellegrino defends it. They break. Pellegrino delivers a flying knee as the round ends.

Round three

Pellegrino needs something big here.

They trade flurries and Sotiropoulos ends it with a straight-right. Nice jab from Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos lands a right-straight, followd by a left-hook. Pellegrino looks wobbly, but gets the takedown. Sotiropoulos tries to sweep, but Pellegrino stays on top.

Sotiropoulos works the crackhead guard, but Pellegrino slams out. They stand up and clinch against the fence. Pellegrino lands a huge knee that drops Sotiropoulos, but the round ends before he can go in for the kill!

Winner: George Sotiropoulos by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Krzysztof (The Polish Experiment) Soszynski vs. Stephan (American Psycho) Bonnar

Round one

Soszynski charges and backs Bonnar up with a flurry of punches. Inside leg kick from Soszynski. Bonnar catches an outside leg kick and takes him down. Soszynski utilizes a high guard, so Bonnar stands on his feet.

Soszynski tries for an armbar and uses it to stand up. Soszynski unloads with punches and then clinches him against the cage. Bonnar switches and dives for a takedown. Soszynski brings him back up, but now Bonnar unloads. Soszynski defends them and they restart.

Soszynski grabs his back. Bonnar pops out, but Soszynski chases him with punches. Now Bonnar unloads, but eats a left-hook. Big straight-right from Bonnar and he presses him against the fence. Soszynski gets away and lands a big straight-right of his own. Both guys just start swinging for teh fences and Bonnar clinches him on the wire.

Bonnar with a teep as the round ends. Great fight so far.

Round two

They exchange big shots, but Soszynski tags Bonnar with a big right and chases him down again. Now Bonnar unloads with a flurry. Soszynski escapes and clinches him against the cage. Bonnar delivers another series of big punches, but Soszynski defends.

Bonnar lands a huge knee and gets the takedown. Soszynski works for a kimura, but lets it go. Soszynski stands back up, but Bonnar presses him on the fence and knees his legs. Bonnar drops Soszynski with a big knee and takes his back! He unloads with punches and the ref stops it!

Winner: Stephan Bonnar by second-round TKO.

Chris (Lights Out) Lytle vs. Matt (The Immortal) Brown

Round one

Lytle catches Brown with a straight-right. Brown grabs a Thai clinch, but Lytle presses him against the cage. Lytle slips, but gets back to his feet. They break and Brown charges in. He grabs a clinch and throws a knee, which Lytle blocks.

They go back to more clinching and Brown trips him down. Lytle tries an gogoplata, but Brown slips out. Brown sinks in a guillotine choke and looks to roll with it. Brown gives it up, though.

They get back to their feet and Lytle chases him with punches. Lytle slips as the round ends.

Round two

Lytle delivers a body kick, but Brown responds with a lef kick. Lytle comes over the top with a hard right. They starts swinging wild and Lytle falls on top as they hit the mat. Lytle has full-mount. He sinks in an inverted triangle and hooks in a straight armbar at the same time. Brown taps!

Winner: Chris Lytle by second-round submission (straight armbar)

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Chris (The Crippler) Leben

Round one

Akiyama immediately trips him off a leg kick. Leben gets back up. and delivers a leg kick. He follows with another. Leben charges with punches, but Akiyama avoids them. Akiyama with a left-hook, but eats one in response. Akiyama delivers an accidental low blow.

Akiyama now in half-guard. Leben sits up and is back to his feet. Akiyama pushes him into the cage and they separate. Akiyama trips him again as the round ends.

Round two

Akiyama trips him, but Leben is right back up. Leben avoids a foot sweep. Superman punch attempt from Leben. Akiyama counters a left-hook with a jab. Leben narrowly misses with a left-hook. Akiyama unloads with big punches, but Leben won't go down. They stand and trade huge shots, but Leben presses him against the cage. Akiyama takes him down.

Leben stands back up, but eats some punches along the way. Akiyama tries for another takedown, but Leben defends it. Leben tries a standing guillotine, but Akiyama pops his head out. Leben tags him with a left-straight and both guys are looking really tired as they swing for the fences.

Round three

Akiyama looks really tired now. He blocks a body kick. Akiyama blocks a head kick. Akiyama catches a leg kick and trips him to the mat.Akiyama tries for a can-opener neck crank, but Leben punches his way out. Leben goes for an armbar, but Akiyama picks him up and pops out. Akiyama is now in half-guard. He takes the full-mount., but is brought back to half.

They exchange punches from the position. Leben brings him back to guard. Both guys are swinging from the ground. Akiyama postures and lands a heavy right. Leben keeps working from his back. He slaps on a triangle choke and Akiyama taps!

Winner: Chris Leben by third-round submission (triangle choke)

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin

Round one

Lesnar takes octagon control. Lesnar tries a double-jab. Lesnar shoots for the takedown, but Carwin stuffs it. Carwin unloads with punches and Lesnar is down! Carwin keeps punching away as Lesnar tries to kick him off. Carwin delivers big elbows, but Lesnar blocks them. Lesnar kicks him off, but Carwin is back on top. Lesnar is bleeding now.

Lesnar is back up and tries for a takedown against the cage. Carwin defends and delivers knees to the body. Lesnar knees the legs as the round ends.

Round two

Lesnar tries a big straight-right, but Carwin responds. Lesnar shoots and takes him down. Lesnar works in punches to the body and head. Lesnar takes the full-mount and goes for an arm triangle choke! Carwin taps!

Winner: Brock Lesnar by second-round submission (arm traingle)
