Chuck Liddell has certainly looked better than ever heading into UFC 115, and chances are he’s never eaten better either. The former light heavyweight champion has been dining like a king during his week in Vancouver, with the exclusive Joe Fortes restaurant delivering ‘The Iceman’ a total of five meals a day ... every day.

Announcer knows city

For UFC announcer Mike Goldberg, calling a UFC event in Vancouver marks a bit of a homecoming. His wife is from the area, and he once called Canucks pay-per-view games.

Tweetin’ for tickets

It’s become a UFC tradition. With Saturday’s show sold out, president Dana White loves a little game of hide-and-tweet — for tickets. Those that follow White on Twitter are given clues as to where in Vancouver to find him. Those that find him get a pair of ducats to the show.

Lots of star sightings

Among those spotted in Vancouver to take in the fight: Former middleweight contender Patrick (The Predator) Cote, welterweight contender Dan Hardy, Randy (The Natural) Couture, Diego Sanchez and Nate Diaz.

Fans flock to event

UFC 115 is a Western Canada affair. One man, who took to the mic during the fan Q-and-A session, says he drove from Manitoba with a carload of friends. Al Milisic came all the way from Fort McMurray, Alta., to watch his idol Mirko (Cro Cop) Filipovic in action.

One popular Playmate

The UFC fighters are popular with the fans — that’s a given. But the largest crowd outside GM Place for Friday’s weigh-ins seemed to be around former ring girl and Playboy model Rachelle Lea, who is in town to take in the show.
