Belfort KO'd by shoulder injury
By JOSE RODRIGUEZ, QMI Agency

The middleweight championship fight between belt-holder Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort at UFC 112 in April has been scratched. According to several sources, Belfort has been forced to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. No replacement has been announced.

UFC dumps Hammer

It was purge time for the UFC following UFC 109. Hall of Famer Mark "The Hammer" Coleman is the highest-profile fighter cut by the fight club following his loss to Randy "The Natural" Couture. Also gone is Frank Trigg and Edmonton's Tim Hague.

White's a hot tweeter

He's never short of anything to chirp about, but now it seems some fans also like his tweets. Earlier this week, UFC boss Dana White hit one million followers on Twitter.

Naturally big payday

Couture was the big winner at UFC 109 and took home the biggest paycheque. Couture earned $250,000 for his win over Coleman, who took home $60,000. Matt Serra ($150,000) and Chael Sonnen ($64,000) were the other big winners. At the bottom of the pay scale, Ronys Torres took home $4,000 and Hague was paid $7,000 for his loss.

  Might be a good idea.
