Mark Coleman dominated Stephan Bonnar en route to winning a unanimous decision at UFC 100. Tonight he squares off with Randy Couture.

Mark (The Hammer) Coleman and Randy (The Natural) Couture were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 17 on May 15, 1998.

However, Couture had to bow out due to a rib injury and Coleman would go on to suffer head-kick knockout at the hands of Pete Williams.

Over a decade later, they finally meet in the main event of UFC 109.

BLOW BY BLOW

Matt (The Terror) Serra vs. Frank (Twinkle Toes) Trigg

Round one

Serra tries a body punch, but Trigg avoids it. Serra throws another, but Trigg counters with a right-left combo. Serra lands a nice leg kick. Serra continues to come forward with his power punches, but Trigg is keeping him on the outside with straight shots.

Serra lands two body punches. Trigg is focusing purely on counter striking, but Serra is starting to get inside. Serra catches him with a huge overhand right and Trigg drops! Serra unleashes with punches on the ground and the ref stops it!

Winner: Matt Serra via first-round knockout.

Demian Maia vs. Dan Miller

Round one

Maia takes octagon control as they both attempt to measure the distance. They clinch and break, with Miller landing a stiff right-hook. Maia clinches and presses Miller on the fence. Maia lands a knee to Miller's leg.

Miller knees Maia's body as they break. Miller delivers an inside leg kick and follows it with an outside leg kick. Maia throws a stiff kick to the body and takes Miller down. Miller gets right back up and Maia delivers an accidental knee to the groin.

They restart. Miller tries a head kick, but it's blocked. Maia lands a body shot and clinches again. He dumps Miller, but can't keep him down. Close round.

Round two

Maia lands a left-straight and follows with a body kick. Miller throws a straight-right, but Maia counters with a straight-left. Miller charges forward, but eats a right jab. Maia is starting to land some stiff straight-lefts.

Miller with a slapping outside leg kick. Maia with a right-hook, straight-left combo. Miller is really trying to land a looping right-hook, but hasn't found a home for it yet.

Miller tries a body shot, but Maia catches him with a straight-left. Maia with another straight-left.

Round three

Maia presses him against the fence, but can't get Miller to the ground. Maia hits the mat and tries to pull guard. Miller avoids it, but Maia shoots and gets him down against the fence. Maia works in some short punches.

Miller wall-walks back to his feet. Maia takes him down again. Miller is scrambling, but Maia is keeping him down. Maia attempts more short punches, but Miller is defending. Maia has a small cut near his left eye.

Maia can't seem to get passed Miller's butterfly-guard. Miller is trying for a triangle choke, but Maia steps out. Miller throws some elbows from the bottom as the round ends.

Winner: Demian Maia by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Mike (Quick) Swick vs. Paulo Thiago

Round one

Thiago lands a head kick. Thiago almost trips Swick with a leg kick. Swick connects with a stiff right, though. Swick tries an overhand right, but it's blocked. Thiago feints punches and lands another hard leg kick.

Swick with a leg kick of his own. Thiago tries a huge left-hook, but Swick blocks. Thiago tries another head kick, but doesn't connect. Swick takes him to the ground as the round ends.

Round two

Thiago throws a teep to push Swick back. He delivers another leg kick and follows with a stiff body kick. Swick keeps moving forward and changing levels, but hasn't connected with much. Thiago throws a right-hook and drops Swick with a follow up left-hook! Thiago slaps on a D'Arce choke and Swick is unconcious!

Winner: Paulo Thiago by second-round submission (D'Arce choke)

Nate (The Great) Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen

Round one

Marquardt tries a teep, but Sonnen almost catches it. Sonnen immediately press him on the fence. Marquardt steps out. Sonnen charges forward with a takedown attempt, but Marquardt goes for a guillotine. Sonnen pops his head out.

Sonnen works in punches from the guard. He is starting to rain some nasty elbows. Marquardt tries a flying knee, but Sonnen catches it and puts him on his back. Sonnen goes back to punches and elbows. Marquardt is having a tough time defending against this onslaught.

Sonnen just keeps grinding away at Marquardt as the round ends. Pure dominance from Sonnen.

Round two

Sonnen immediately takes Marquardt down again. Marquardt starts working for a kimura, but the fence is in the way. Sonnen responds with elbows to the body to loosen him up. Marquardt is forced to let go of the keylock.

Marquardt tries to kick him off and sweep, but Sonnen keeps on top. Marquardt with a stiff elbow and Sonnen now looks to be bleeding quite a bit here. Sonnen keeps pounding away, but Marquardt switches and goes for a leg lock. Sonnen takes his back and is bleeding all over him. Marquardt keeps elbowing the cut on Sonnen's forehead.

Blood is literally pouring out of Sonnen's head. Both guys are covered in it. Marquardt gets back to his feet, but Sonnen takes him right back down.

Sonnen punches away as the round ends.

Round three

Marquardt needs something big here.

Marquardt tries a takedown of his own, but can't get it. Sonnen now puts him on his back and returns to his ground-and-pound. Sonnen is alternating between body punches and shots to the head. Marquardt tries to get back to his feet, but Sonnen is all over him.

Marquardt is back up. Sonnen shoots, but Marquardt grabs a guillotine choke! It's deep, but Sonnen pops his head out! That was close.

Marquardt rolls him over and is on top now in the north-south position. He stands up and rains the bombs as the round ends!

Winner: Chael Sonnen by unanimous decision (All three judges scored it 30-27).

Randy (The Natural) Couture vs. Mark (The Hammer) Coleman

Round one

Coleman takes octagon control and lands a straight-right. Couture answers with a jab. He then clips Coleman with a stiff right-straight. Coleman lands a huge right-hook and follows with a straight, causing Couture to back off.

Coleman with a nice jab. Couture connects with a huge straight-right and Coleman is hurt. They clinch on the fence and Couture is working his dirty boxing. Couture comes over the top with a big left.

Couture with a stiff uppercut. Couture with a knee to the body and follows with another uppercut. They trade knees and Couture is absolutely tagging Coleman with those uppercuts.

Round two

They trade jabs and Coleman lands a left-hook. Couture tags Coleman with a stiff jab and immediately presses him on the fence. He takes Coleman down and starts working his ground-and-pound from the mount. Couture takes his back and sinks in a rear-naked choke! Coleman doesn't tap and goes unconscious.

Winner: Randy Couture by second-round submission (rear-naked choke).

As Coleman is talking to Joe Rogan, Tito Ortiz yells something from the audience. Coleman points to him and says, "F--k you, Tito. Anytime anywere, douche bag."
