PRIDE 2005 gran prix winner Mauricio (Shogun) Rua looks to dethrone UFC light-heavyweight champion Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida.

Also, undefeated heavyweight Cain Velasquez faces IFL standout (Big) Ben Rothwell.

BLOW BY BLOW

Anthony (Rumble) Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki (Zenko) Yoshida

Round one

Johnson immediately takes octagon control. He backs Yoshida against the cage and starts unloading with straight rights and uppercuts to the body. Johnson tags Yoshida with another straight right and drops him! It's all over!

Winner: Anthony Johnson via first round TKO

Joe (Daddy) Stevenson vs. Spencer (The King) Fisher

Round one

Joe Stevenson comes out to "I got a feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. I now officially want him to get knocked out in the most violent way possible.

Stevenson seems to want to trade for now, so it looks like I may get my wish. Fisher connects with a nice straight-right. Stevenson is landing his own shots and connects with stiff left-hook. Fisher is bleeding over his right eye.

Stevenson shoots for a takedown and presses Fisher against the cage. Stevenson almost gets a leg out, but Fisher is keeping a wide base to avoid getting taken to the mat.

Fisher is blinking a lot, so the blood may be interfering with his vision. Fisher lands a nice inside leg kick and follows with a left-right combo. Stevenson gets him to the mat and takes control of his back. He unloads with punches as the round ends.

Round two

Stevenson lands a nice left-hook. Stevenson shoots and sweeps Fisher's legs out. Stevenson is in Fisher's guard and starts moving him towards the cage. Fisher is delivering some elbows from his back. He tries for a leg lock, but Stevenson avoids it.

Stevenson moves to half-guard and starts delivering some elbows of his own. Stevenson passes to side-control and absolutely unloads with elbows until the ref stops it.

Winner: Joe Stevenson by second round submission due to strikes.

Gleison Tibau vs. Josh (The Dentist) Neer

Round one

Tibau immediately shoots and gets a huge slam on Neer. Tibau lets him back up for some reason. Neer delivers a stiff leg kick. Tibau responds with another big slam. He's literally throwing Neer around like he's nothing.

Neer is back up, but bleeing around his right eye. Tibau lands a hard straight right. Tibau shoots again and just plows right through him. Neer kicks him off, though.

Tibau delivers a solid straight-left and gets another takedown. Neer just stands right back up. The round ends.

Round two

Tibau immediately tosses Neer to the mat. He still can't keep him down, though. Neer tags him with a straight-right, but is immediately taken down again.

Neer is back up and starting to push forward more. He delivers an inside leg kick, but Tibau takes him down again. Tibau grabs full-mount and switches to his back. Neer stands up with Tibau still on his back.

Tibau switches to an armbar, but Neer gets his arm out and is on top now. They stand back up and Neer lands an inside leg kick.

Tibau is looking tired now. Neer lands an uppercut, but Tibau trips him. Neer is back to his feet and chasing Tibau down.

Round three

Tibau again takes Neer to the mat with ease. He can't seem to pass his guard, though. Both men are delivering shots. Neer is back up and trying to push the fight. Neer stuffs his first takedown. He avoids another one. Tibau is looking very tired.

Neer connects with a big right-hook, but Tibau takes him right down again. Neer delivers some nasty elbows from his back and gets to his feet. Neer delivers an inside leg kick. He delivers another, but limps on his leg right after. Neer may have a shin injury.

Tibau takes him to the mat again, but Neer just stands right up. Tibau puts him on his back and Neer stands as the round ends.

Winner: Gleison Tibau by unanimous decision.

Cain Velasquez vs. (Big) Ben Rothwell

Round one

Rothwell counters a body kick with a straight-right. Velasquez grabs a single-leg and takes him down. Rothwell grabs for a kimura, but Velasquez pulls his legs out and puts him on his back again.

Rothwell stands back up, but Velasquez tags him with a straight-right. Velasquez grabs a leg and puts Rothwell down. He takes a north/south position and starts delivering elbows. Velasquez switches to side-control. Rothwell stands up, but finds himself back on the mat soon after.

Velasquez unloads with elbows, but Rothwell weathers the storm. Velasquez gets full-mount, but Rothwell does a hip escape. He jumps back into mount and unloads with ground-and-pound. He still can't put him away, thouugh.

Rothwell is on his hands and knees. He gets to his feet and the round ends.

Round two

Rothwell tries a wobbly head kick, but Velasquez just puts him right back down. Rothwell crawls towards the cage, but Velasquez unloads with punches against the cage and the ref stops it. Rothwell is angry because he was back to his feet at the stoppage.

Winner: Cain Velasquez by second round TKO.

Lyoto (The Dragon) Machida vs. Mauricio (Shogun) Rua

Round one

Rua tries a body kick. Machida lands a couple knees to the body. Rua delivers a nice leg kick. They clinch on the cage and Rua knees his legs. Machida tries a head kick, but Rua counters with a leg kick.

Rua presses him on the fence and knees the legs again. Rua tries to rush with a body kick, but Machida avoids it. Rua delivers a kick to the body. Rua lands a stiff leg kick.

Rua lands another body kick. Both guys have bruised bodies. Time runs out and it looks like Rua took that one.

Round two

Rua lands a straight-right. He charges and delivers a solid leg kick. Rua with another solid body kick. Machida counters a knee with a straight-left. Rua presses him against the cage, but they separate.

Machida tries to sweep him, but Rua stays on his feet. Machida with a nice body kick. Rua responds with one of his own. Rua delivers another stiff kick to Machida's body.

They clinch and Rua knees him in the body. They exchange some knees to the legs as the round ends. Rua should be up two round now.

Round three

Rua continues to land that kick to the body. These have to be adding up. Machida comes forward with a stiff jab, but Rua counters with a leg kick.

Machida delivers a stiff body kick, but Rua responds with a leg kick. Rua tries to shoot, but can't get the takedown. Rua lands a hard leg kick. He delivers another. He follows with another body kick.

Rua charges with punches, but Machida avoids it. Rua with another huge leg kick and follows it with a knee. Now Machida explodes and Rua is hurt! Rua lands some of his own shots and clinches. Close call on that round.

Round four

Rua counters a body kick with another leg kick. Rua delivers a stiff body kick. Machida tries a high kick, but Rua avoids it. Machida slips and Rua pounces on him. They're clinched on the fence and separate.

Rua with another leg kick. Machida counters with punches, but Rua blocks them. Rua does another nice leg kick. They clinch and break, but Rua lands an elbow as they separate. Rua with a nice knee to the body.

Rua with a stiff leg kick. Machida is limping and trying to switch stances to compensate. Another round for Rua. Machida needs to come alive.

Round five

Rua with another leg kick. He's just going to town on Machida's legs and body.

Rua with another leg kick. He follows it with -- you guessed it -- a leg kick. Rua catches a body kick and follows with a leg kick. Machida lands a big knee to Rua's body.

Rua with more body kicks. Time is running out for Machida. Rua with a nice elbow. Machida looks really tired now. Rua with a big straight-right. Rua with a big left-hook as the round ends. Looks like we have a new champion.

Winner: Lyoto Machida by unanimous decision (48-47). Are you kidding me!? Rua won four rounds and Machida absolutely had his body and legs punished. That is total BS. As far as I'm concerned, Rua is the uncrowned champion.
