Eilers' stepfather guilty in death

Former UFC and Elite XC heavyweight Justin Eilers' killer has been found guilty. An Idaho jury found his stepfather, James Malec, guilty of voluntary manslaughter in Eilers' shooting death last Christmas Day. Eilers was 30.

Hughes stays in UFC

Matt Hughes has signed a multi-fight deal to stay in the UFC, according to the fighter's website. The former welterweight champ didn't give details of the deal, but hinted it would be the Illinois native's last.

Big paydays

Last week's UFC 102 netted some decent paycheques for the fighters. Main-event winner Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira earned $400,000 while his opponent, Randy Couture, earned $250,000. Other big earners include Gabriel Gonzaga ($120,000), Nate Marquardt ($80,000) and Brandon Vera ($70,000).

Penn defends title

B.J. Penn will defend his lightweight title at UFC 107 on Dec. 12 in Memphis, Tenn. His opponent is expected to be Diego"Nightmare" Sanchez.
