Hurt Rampage loses Sugar shot

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will have to wait for his shot at the UFC light-heavyweight belt. Jackson, who earned a shot after beating Keith "Dean of Mean" Jardine at UFC 96 last week, won't be recovered from a jaw injury in time to take on Sugar Rashad Evans at UFC 98 on May 23. Instead, Evans will take on the undefeated Lyoto Machida at the Las Vegas event that will also feature Yushin Okami taking on Dan Miller and Sean Sherk fighting Frankie Edgar.

...but he did cash in

Jackson was the big winner both inside and outside the UFC 96 cage. He took home $325,000, the most of any fighter on the card. Heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga earned $60,000 in his loss to Shane Carwin, while Brendan "The Truth" Vera also scored $60,000 for his victory over Michael Patt. All other fighters made less.

Shamrock suspended

MMA pioneer Ken Shamrock has been suspended for a year and fined $2,500 for failing a drug test. The California State Athletic Commission suspended the 45-year-old Shamrock after he tested positive for steroids following a Feb. 13 show in which the UFC Hall of Famer won his first fight in six tries. Shamrock was to fight Bobby Lashley next weekend.

Bonnar vs. Coleman

Stephan Bonnar will take on Mark Coleman at UFC 100, according to mmamania.com. The event, also in Las Vegas, is expected to include heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar taking on interim belt-holder Frank Mir and welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre facing Thiago Alves.

Couture tipped for 101

The rumour mill has Randy "The Natural" Couture returning to the cage for UFC 101 against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Stone Cold with Arnold

Stone Cold Steve Austin will appear in The Expendables, with a star-studded cast that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, Jet Li, Forest Whitaker, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Couture.
