UFC 93 predictions

JOSE RODRIGUEZ AND TIM BAINES

, Last Updated: 9:14 AM ET

- Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin: Franklin is a more natural 205-pounder, while Henderson, once a two-belt champ in Pride, hasn't looked great since coming to the UFC. Standup goes to Franklin, ground to Henderson. If Franklin can keep the fight standing, he should prevail.

PREDICTION: Franklin by decision.

- Mark Coleman vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua: Coleman was once a powerhouse and pioneer of the sport. Now he's 44 and more than two years removed from serious competition. Rua is a more rounded fighter with precision striking and submissions.

PREDICTION: Rua by first-round TKO.

- Alan Belcher vs. Denis Kang: It's Vancouver native Kang's first fight inside the Octagon after a distinguished career in Pride, Spirit MC and K-1. Belcher has looked impressive, but hasn't fought anyone of Kang's pedigree.

PREDICTION: Kang by second-round submission.

- Jeremy Horn vs. Rousimar Palhares: Horn is an MMA legend who has fought in virtually every league with more than 100 scraps on his resume. But his last three losses have all come via choke submissions and Palhares is a submission expert.

PREDICTION: Palhares by second-round submission.

- Marcus Davis vs. Chris Lytle: Two former boxers, both with strong chins and even stronger striking. Both fight with heart and there is little doubt this has all the makings of Fight of the Night. PREDICTION: Davis by third-round TKO.
