It was a broken limb-filled night at Wednesday's Fight for the Troops. Corey Hill suffered a broken leg and light heavyweight Razaak Al-Hassan sustained a dislocated right elbow after refusing to tap out as Steve Cantwell applied force in an arm bar. Welterweights Yoshiyuki Yoshida -- who was KO'd by Josh Koscheck -- and Montreal's Jonathan Goulet, who was dismantled by Mike Swick, both suffered concussions.
SWEET RETURN FOR LEGEND
Fight legend Pat Miletich returned to fighting this week and manhandled Thomas Denny to earn a knockout victory during the main event of Adrenaline MMA II. At 40, the former UFC fighter is best known for having trained and launched the careers of Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin and Tim Sylvia.
SOKOUDJOU VS. SOBRAL?
MMAjunkie is reporting that recently released UFC light heavyweight Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou is in negotiations to face Renato "Babalu" Sobral at the Jan. 24 Affliciton event in Anaheim, Calif. Sokoudjou lost two of his three fights in the UFC, but was a Pride standout prior to switching over, with victories over Ricardo Arona and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
LIAUDIN SHOWN DOOR
Sam Caplan of fiveouncesofpain.com is reporting the UFC purge continues with five-fight vet Jess Liaudin the latest to get his walking papers. The French fighter had lost his last three outings, which is seen by the UFC as the cutoff point for its non-marquee fighters.
LOCAL WRESTLING CARDS
Rage Wrestling Entertainment's Karnage Tour is rolling through the Ottawa area this weekend. After a show in Carleton Place last night, there's a show tonight (8 p.m.) at the Rockland Knights of Columbus Hall (954 Giroux St.) and tomorrow (4 p.m.) at the Kemptville Rec Centre. Segments will be filmed for the Wrestling Reality series which appears on The Fight Network.
