Mike Brown did the unexpected earlier this week. He put an end to World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight champ Urijah Faber's 13-fight win streak. Brown, a 3-1 underdog, scored a TKO win in the first round of WEC 36: Faber vs. Brown.
Some other interesting outcomes from WEC 36: Chael Sonnen defeated middleweight champ Paulo Filho (Filho failed to make weight, so it was a non-title bout) and Leonard Garcia put the brakes on Jens Pulver's comeback.
FRANCA BUSTED FOR DUI
Former UFC lightweight contender Hermes Franca has been arrested in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence. Franca was arrested early Thursday and released later in the day. No court date has been set.
VOTERS REJECT 'THE LAW'
The first African-American in the White House is a reality, but the first mixed-martial artist in U.S. politics will have to wait. Olympic silver medallist at the 2000 Games and UFC vet Matt "The Law" Lindland ran for the Oregon House of Representatives as a Republican and was beaten by his Democrat opponent.
BIG DEAL FOR GREAT DANE
Martin Kampmann has signed a four-fight contract with the UFC, but the Danish vet will be moving down a weight class. "The Hitman" will drop from 185 lbs. to 170 to enter the class ruled by Montreal's Georges St. Pierre.

Chris Jericho defeated Batista in a steel cage match on RAW to once again become WWE's world heavyweight champ ... Super Crazy asked for and got his WWE release ... Mike Adamle has stepped down as RAW GM ... Low Ki is getting a WWE tryout. And Goldust is apparently back.
