A year after his devastating loss to Matt Serra, Georges St. Pierre looks to regain his welterweight championship at UFC 83 in Montreal.

Also on the card, Travis Lutter takes on former middleweight champion Rich Franklin.

Event card and predictions

Mark Bocek (5-1-0) vs. Mac Danzig (18-4-1)

After two fights in the UFC, Mark Bocek has yet to put on a stellar performance. He’s a very good fighter and has a lot of potential, but I just don’t think he’ll be taking down a seasoned veteran like Mac Danzig.

Prediction: Danzig via first round submission

Charles McCarthy (7-2-0) vs. Michael Bisping (15-1-0)

You would have to look pretty hard to find a match I care about less than this one. In one corner you have McCarthy, who claims that he has the world’s greatest BJJ is laughable at best, and then you have the obnoxious and overrated Bisping.

Predicition: We’ll go with Bisping via first round KO/TKO

Nate Quarry (14-2-0) vs. Kalib Starnes (10-3-1)

This is a tough one to call. If it stays standing, the advantage should go to Quarry. If it hits the ground, however, Starnes will most likely take it.

Predicition: Again, a hard one, but we’ll go with Quarry by decision

Travis Lutter (12-4-0) vs. Rich Franklin (24-3-0)

It’s been over a year since Lutter last fought in the UFC. Franklin has been more active since then, but was dismantled in his second match with Anderson Silva.

I think Lutter will show some noticeable ring rust and Franklin will capitalize on it.

Predicition: Franklin by second round KO/TKO

Matt Serra (16-4-0) vs. Georges St-Pierre (15-2-0)

Oh man, this is going to be one hell of a fight. The last time they fought, Serra destroyed St. Pierre and you know what they say about payback.

It’s actually kind of sad that so few people are giving Serra a chance here. If he beat GSP once, he can certainly do it again.

But after watching GSP’s last few matches, I don’t think it’s going to happen tonight.

Predicition: GSP by second round KO/TKO
