It will be the biggest blow to the UFC's reign over MMA. The first EliteXC show on CBS will take place on May 31. It will be the first MMA event to air live on a major network. Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson will headline the event against an unnamed opponent and middleweight champ Robbie Lawler will take on Scott Smith for the belt.

HARDCORE SIGNS SILVA

Chalk up another big name for Calgary-based Hardcore Championship Fighting. The promotion has reportedly signed former UFC heavyweight Assuerio Silva to a five-fight deal. The stable of scrappers for Keith Crawford's promotion now boasts Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and David Loiseau. HCF's next show will be at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau on March 26, featuring Loiseau taking on Todd Gouwenberg.

SANCHEZ HEADLINES

Diego Sanchez will headline the June 21 The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale. He is expected to take on Luigi Fioravanti. Speculation is building that Ultimate Fighter 8 will feature heavyweights.
