Shamrock anything but lucky in loss
By JOSE RODRIGUEZ -- Calgary Sun

Tito Ortiz buried the hatchet with his arch nemesis Ken Shamrock last night and drove the final nail into the UFC hall-of-famer's career.

As he had done in two previous fights, Ortiz wasted little time taking Shamrock to the ground and unloading a flurry of shots that forced ref John MacCarthy to pull Ortiz off the unconcious Shamrock.

Unlike the last fight in July, which was stopped 78 seconds into the bout, Shamrock readily admitted he was knocked out, announced his retirement from the sport and asked Ortiz for an end to their seven-year feud.

Ortiz accepted the peace offering, then began to tout his upcoming December title bout against light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell.

The undercards for the fight in Hollywood Florida's Hard Rock Cafe, served as a showcase for The Ultimate Fighter 3 contestants but it was an Edmonton fighter who made the biggest impression.

Jason McDonald put on a jiu-jitsu clinic against TUF 3's Ed Herman, stopping the heavily favoured Herman with a triangle choke in the first round.
