Conor McGregor is a showman and he knows how to warm up a pro-Irish crowd.
With the Sinead O'Connor/Chieftains version of The Foggy Dew blasting through the speakers, and a walk up with the Irish Tricolour, McGregor had the hometown crowd eating out of the palm his hands.
More importantly, he didn't disappoint inside the ring, with a first-round TKO over Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46 from the O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday afternoon.
Neither fighter seemed interested in having this bout go the distance as they both came out swinging but it was the Irishman who succeeded.
McGregor got Brandao going sideways into the cage with a wicked-body shot, followed that up with a punishing left that put Brandao on the ground, and finished it at 4:05 with eight rights to the head and face area.
McGregor says he simply did what he promised all week.
“I said I would put him away and I did,” McGregor said post fight.
