Veteran UFC fighter Thiago Silva is in a Florida jail after threatening his estranged wife at gunpoint.

Silva, who has been a regular on UFC fight cards since 2007, was charged by Miami police with two counts of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and obstruction without violence Friday.

The UFC released a statement saying it had terminated Silva’s contract Friday morning, and UFC president Dana White was clear that Silva's career in the organization is over.

“This guy will never fight again in the UFC,” White told Yahoo Sports.

The charges stem from an incident early Thursday morning in which police allege Silva threatened his wife of 13 years, Thaysa Silver, who he separated from in 2012, and her new boyfriend.

Silva is alleged to have threatened of them with a gun before locking himself in their home. He was tased “for officer safety reasons” after coming outside when the SWAT unit arrived at the home.
