Affliction is sticking to its strategy to marry mixed-martial arts and heavy metal. Ozzy Osbourne will perform at Affliction's Oct. 11 event at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The main event in Vegas will feature a heavyweight battle between former UFC champs Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett.
DAY OUT, MACDONALD IN
One Albertan's out and another Albertan is in.
Jason "Dooms" Day has pulled out of his fight against Jason Lambert scheduled for UFC 88 on Sept. 6.
Reports say Day suffered an arm injury that forced him to withdraw from the fight. Fellow middleweight Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald will take his place.
SHERK, GRIFFIN TO MEET
Former UFC lightweight champ Sean "The Muscle Shark" Sherk will take on Tyson Griffin at UFC 90 in Chicago.
The UFC made the official announcement this week. Quebec's Patrick "The Predator" Cote will take on champ Anderson "Spider" Silva for the middleweight belt in the main event.
UFC 91 GOING WEST
The UFC is set to put another tack on its growing map of conquests.
The UFC will host UFC 91 in Portland, Ore., on Nov. 15. Rumoured for the fight is a lightweight showdown between Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson.
CHAMPS TO SQUARE OFF
The Superfight between welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre and lightweight champ B.J. Penn will take place at UFC 93 in January, according to Yahoo! Sports. No location has been revealed.
BRAZILIAN FAILS DRUG TEST
EliteXC heavyweight champ Antonio Silva has failed a post-fight drug test and has been suspended by the California State Athletic Commission for one year.
The 6-foot-4, 265-lb. Brazilian, who has a career record of 11-1 including eight knockouts, tested positive for Boldenone.
His agent says he will appeal the finding.
