Former Pride champion Fedor Emelianenko faces former UFC champion Tim Sylvia on Affliction's first ever MMA show.

Also, Andrei Arlovski takes on Ben Rothwell and Josh Barnett looks to avenge his loss to Pedro Rizzo.

I'm having some technical difficulties with Rogers and I can't see the pay-per-view. It's ordered, but I'm getting an error message. I will update this page after it gets sorted. It's also taking me forever to get in touch with someone at Rogers -- got to love that awesome customer service.

BLOW BY BLOW

Hello everyone and welcome to the very first Affliction Blow by Blow. This is quite the stacked show where even the dark matches look good on paper. There is a free UFC on tonight as well, but the card doesn't look nearly as good. I go where the action is.

According to MMA site sherdog.com, the California State Athletic Commission has refused to license Aleksander Emelianenko. Gary (Big Daddy) Goodridge will be his replacement.

Mike (Quicksand) Pyle vs. J.J. Ambrose

Thanks to Rogers, I didn't catch the fight, but Mike Pyle won by submission in the first round. The show is back on now.

Antonio Rogerio (Minotoro) Nogueira vs. Edwin (Babyface) Dewees

Round one

Affliction has Michael Buffer announcing. They even beat the UFC in Buffers!

Nogueira takes ring control and moves forward, but Dewees is using kicks to keep him at bay. They clinch in the corner and fight for the takedown. They separate and Nogueira forces him to the ground.

Nogueira works some punches and hammer-fists from Dewees' guard. They stand back up and Nogueira gets the Thai clinch and starts blasting him with knees! He unloads with a fury of punches and it's over! Nogueira wins by first round TKO!

Matt (The Law) Lindland vs. Fabio Negao

Lindland blasts him, grabs a guillotine and mounts with it! Negao rolls him over, but Lindland just takes mount again! Negao manages to break the grip and puts Lindland in his guard.

Round two

Lindland comes at him and lands a nice uppercut. Negao blasts him and Lindland is hurt! The Law manages to regain his composure and clinches! That could have been it, but Lindland managed to keep it together.

Round three

Lindland is the aggressor again. They trade some shots, but Negao flees. Lindland keeps charging him, but Negao avoids any serious confrontations. Negao looks really tired.

Round one

Babalu lands a couple nice leg kicks, but Whitehead presses him against the ropes. They separate and are back on the ropes. Whitehead lands a knee to the body and they step back and start trading again. Whitehead hits a nice uppercut, but it doesn't seem to faze Babalu.

Babalu seems to be getting the better of the striking, but Whitehead is keeping this close. Babalu grabs a guillotine, but can't hold on. Whitehead needs to take advantage of this position and work his ground-and-pound. Babalu tries an omoplata, but can't keep it.

Now Babalu clinches on the ropes and hits a couple knees. Babalu hits a nice push kick to Whitehead's face. Now he tries a spinning roundhouse! Time expires.

Mark (The Machine) Hominick vs. Savant Young

Round one

Hominick comes out throwing and has Young backing up. Young is doing a nice job of picking his shots, though. He tries a takedown, but can't get it.

Young hits a nice body shot, but it doesn't seem to faze Hominick much. The round expires.

Round two

Hominick keeps moving forward and peppering him with shots. Young answers with a leg kick, but keeps trying to land haymaker punches.

Young takes him down and utilizes some body shots. Hominick gets a triangle! Young slams his way out! Hominick needed to bring his foot down further to secure that properly.

He tries an armbar and switches to another triangle, but again he doesn't bring his foot down! He changes to another armbar and Young taps!

Megadeth

Megadeth is performing now. I refuse to do any kind of play-by-play for that and apologize to the three Megadeth fans who visit this site.

(The Baby Faced Assassin) Josh Barnett vs. Pedro (The Rock) Rizzo

Round one

Barnett looks crisp so far. He's avoiding any significant shots, but is landing a few jabs. Spinning back kick from Barnett! He didn't really land the kick, but I'm surprised he even tried it.

Nice body kick from Barnett. Rizzo hits a couple nice jabs. Barnett lands a spinning leg kick, but Rizzo hits a head kick. The round expires.

Round two

Both guys are tentative, but Barnett is looking good with his stand-up. Rizzo is waiting for that perfect counter-strike. Barnett blasts him with a KO punch! That was incredible! It was complete reverse of their first fight! Rizzo is out cold!

Rothwell looks very focused. They clinch and trade knees. Rothwell tries a Thai clinch, but Arlovski presses him in the corner.

Arlovski hits a couple leg kicks, but Rothwell clinches. Arlovski takes him down and tries an Achilles hold! Rothwell escapes and they stand back up. Big Ben comes at him and presses him against the ropes.

Arlovski explodes and starts blasting Rothwell! Big Ben manages to avoid getting knocked out and the round expires.

Round two

Arlovski hits a nice over-hand right and he's taking the fight to Rothwell. Arlovski starts blasting him! Rothwell manages to stay in there, but he has taken a lot of punishment. Arlovski tries a leglock, but Rothwell spins out and is now on top.

Big Ben blasts Arlovski with some elbows! The ref stands them up. Arlovski blasts Rothwell with punches and a jumping knee! The round expires! Man, Arlovski is looking vicious here and this is definitely the best fight so far.

Round three

Rothwell presses him in the corner, but Arlovski gets out and he blasts him! It's over! That was total domination from Arlovski. There's even blood on the camera.

Megadeth 2: Take your washroom break now

(The Last Emperor) Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim (The Maine-iac) Sylvia

Round one

Fedor comes out and blasts him! He takes the rear-naked choke and it's over! That only took 36 seconds!

Hands down, Fedor is still the best fighter in the world!
