Dan "Torture" Chambers may have missed his first opportunity for a UFC contract, but he definitely got the respect of a nine-time UFC veteran.

"Not many people gave me much of a chance against a nine time UFC vet. I had him in a lock, but he got out of it. I think I proved to a lot of people that I belong," said Chambers after his first-round defeat to Joe "Diesel" Riggs. "I maybe shouldn't have started off with a kick he got me down early, but that comes with inexperience. I will take away a lot from this fight and use it for fights down the road."

Riggs had a lot riding on the fight. If he lost to Chambers, he would have been kicked out of UFC for good.

"He's a good fighter and he gave me a good fight. He gave me a hell of a fight and there is no doubt he'll get another chance down the road," said Riggs.

"I didn't have much of a chance to train, but there was no way I was going to lose this fight."
