Sarah Kaufman promised to give fans a good show during the first ever women's mixed martial arts match in Manitoba.

She lived up to her word posting a third round TKO victory and spoiling the debut of Alexis Davis during last night's Ultimate Cage Wars before 1,500 fans at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.

"I told you I'd give you a show," said Kaufman after posting her third straight TKO. She won her other match with a first-round .TKO

The Victoria, B.C. resident dominated the first round with a series of knees to the midriff. The round ended with both fighters connecting with a flurry of punches.

Her dominance continued in the second round as she came out swinging, connecting with a series of punches to Davis' face that drew blood from the nose of the Port Colborne, Ont. resident.

"I just go out and try to dictate. I'd go in head first if I had to," said Kaufman.

Former Manitoba Bison wrestling star Kevin Manderson lost his first pro bout at 2:09 of the second round when Jason Tatlow of Saskatoon applied an arm bar.

Aaron Tregear of London, Ont. won the main-event of the 11-bout card with a rear naked choke on Graydon Tannas, of Calgary.

In a gruelling three-rounder Victor Daychief, of Lethbridge, Alta., outlasted London's Brian McEachern. Daychief concentrated on head shots in the third round to leave MacEarchern's face bloodied and swollen.

Winnipeg's Ryan Boux survived a cut under his right eye midway through the first round, but lost by a second round TKO to Justin Doyon, of Sudbury. Both fighters appeared to be tired when Boux was hit with a short right to the chin. He took two steps back and collapsed against the fence at 2:08.

In a battle of heavyweights, Aaron Basso, of London, Ont. connected to the chin of Brandon's Nathan Spence for a 16-second knockout.

Josh Gallant was a winner in his first professional fight with a first- round TKO over Pete Brown, of London, Ont.. Gallant, of Calgary, used two right crosses to open a one-inch cut over Brown's right eye at 3:36 mark of the 155-pound match.

Bob Keleman, of Saskatoon, needed only 26 seconds to post a first-round knockout over

Brandon's Demarce Keleman used an opening to nail Demarce with a head kick.

Toronto's Roy McDonnell used a triangle choke to defeat London's Todd Wood 1:03 of the first round. Both fighters were covered in blood from a cut on the bridge of Wood's nose.

Promoter Tony Candela's next Ultimate Cage War card on June 23 will feature an appearance by current UFO heavyweight champion, Randy "The Natural" Couture. Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster April 23.

In an entertaining 135-pound match, Bill Boland of Toronto scored a unanimous decision over John Dodson, of Albuquerque, N.M.

Steve "Gimme a half a sandwich" Taylor sent his fellow Winnipeggers home happy with a guillotine choke out victory over Calgary's Aaron Gallant.
