Camacho charged with child abuse

Former boxing champion Hector (Macho) Camacho has turned himself in to authorities in Florida and has been charged with child abuse after allegedly slamming his teenage son to the ground and stomping on him last year.
The incident allegedly happened at Camacho's ex-wife's home on March 22, 2011, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
The son reportedly told detectives he believed Camacho, 49, was "high on drugs" at the time.
But Camacho is not a drug user, a representative of the retired boxer told TMZ on Tuesday.
"Everything has been resolved between him and his family," the rep said.
The dispute allegedly began when Camacho discovered that money was missing from his wallet.
The ex-fighter's attorney said in a statement Tuesday that "Camacho immediately and voluntarily reported to the Orange County Sheriff's department when he learned that a complaint had been filed against him regarding a domestic dispute that occurred over one year ago ... Mr. Camacho only recently learned of the complaint and accordingly voluntarily reported to officials so that this matter can be resolved."
Camacho, 49, was a WBC super featherweight and lightweight champion during the 1980s, and a WBO light welterweight champ in 1989 and 1991.
