Edmonton junior middleweight Anthony Lessard (7-5-2, 6 KOs) has a long memory when it comes to his undercard opponent on Friday night.

"I fought Darren Kenny in my second pro fight five years ago, and my trainer at the time told me he couldn't punch," Lessard chuckled yesterday.

"I went into the ring thinking that, and the next thing I knew, my nose was on the other side of my face. He hit me with everything and won a decision."

Don't look for a repeat in the rematch, Lessard said.

"I'm glad this is a Friday the 13th fight, 'cuz I promise it's gonna be bloody," he added.

"This is payback time for me -- and I'm gonna pay him back with pain."

The other featured prelims will showcase flashy Edmonton lightweight Ayana Pelletier (6-1) against Lindsay Garbett (3-2) of Toronto, and unbeaten Calgary lightweight Steve Claggett (4-0-1) squaring off with Scott Paul (5-2) of Hamilton, Ont.

The curtain-raiser will feature hard-punching local lightweight Brad Marks -- fresh off a 24-second KO in his pro debut last month.
